Gado Gado Shartenstyle

Most salads are batshit boring. Gado Gado is not. Certainly not when you feature Shartenfreude as the sauce! It’s the perfect way to make this lovely Indonesian dish without peanuts.

What you need:
50ml Bluey Zarzov’s Shartenfreude
2 eggs
Lettuce
Green beans
Firm tofu
Potato
Tomato (grape or cherry tomatoes are best)
Cucumber
Prawn crackers to serve

Step 1
Prepare the tofu by taking it out of the packet and placing something heavy enough to gently squeeze out the moisture for about 10 minutes. Once the liquid is out, but the tofu into long cubes and gently fry it in either sesame oil or coconut oil.

Step 2
Dice the potato, boil and allow to cool. Boil the eggs just past soft, but not longer. Allow them to cool too, (you can use ice water to cool them if you are a control freak), peel them and cut in half lengthways.

Step 3
Roughly cut the lettuce, slice the cucumber, trim the beans and dice the tomato.

Step 4
Assemble the salad any way you like. Be creative!

Step 5
Finish it off by pouring Bluey Zarzov’s Shartenfreude over the top and serve with prawn crackers to scoop it up.
