What a delicious sweet and sticky appetizer! There are many ways to cook pork belly, but this one is super easy and very quick.
What you need:
50ml Bluey Zarzov’s Hot Aussie BBQ
500g pork belly (get some with plenty of meat)
1 tblsp honey
spring onion and sesame seeds for garnish, but optional
Step 1
Get your pork belly and remove the skin, because unlike the crispy-skin pork belly that takes ages to cook, we are going to make sticky, bites. You can cook the skin seperately to turn it into crackling by scoring it and adding lots of salt, but for the rest, cut it into 4cm cubes.
Step 2
Heat the pan on high and fry the cubes on one side for about 5 minutes and then turn them and cook for another 5 minutes turning the heat down a bit if necessary. A lot of fat will be rendered off, so when done, remove the bites and put them in a bowl with Bluey Zarzov’s Hot Aussie BBQ hotsauce and the honey and mix them so they are coated. Remove the fat from the pan and place aside.
Step 3
Put the bites and all the sauce mix back into the pan and cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Step 4
Serve immediately with an optional sprinkle of sliced spring onion and sesame seeds.
